Gardening I think is part of my blood. I've been gardening since i was a little girl. My mom would have me come out to help with her rather extensive garden. She had six children, life on a farm, and everyone needed to be fed. So us three girls and mom spent ALOT of time out in the garden.
Trips to the gardening stores in the spring, picking up plants at the nursery, ordering on-line from William Dam. It's what we did.
Weeds. Oh my the weeds...I had no appreciation for them at the time. I just wanted them gone.
Since I raise rabbits now.. I can say I have an appreciation for them. I let them grow until they are big enough to feed but not big enough to threaten the real food. Drives my hubby nuts.. he wants them gone when they are just starting.
But that's kinda how he lives his life too. He notices something out of kilter he wants it fixed up as fast as possible, whereas I tend to be more .. ah.. it's a bit of a problem now but not too bad I can work with it.
Not perhaps the easiest way to live life is it? So much easier if you deal with issues immediately.
It's a more biblical approach as well. We need to be careful of the weeds in our lives. Not letting them take too firm a hold.
Just as sometimes I forget a weed and it becomes much harder to pull out, we need to watch for the "off-kilter things" in our lives and root them out before they become too big to deal with easily or well.
We need to garden our own selves.
And that's my five minutes folks. :)
Come join us won't you?
