I have to tell you, it's a nice book for children. I look forward to reading it with my son. The lad Rasmus, is nine years old, living in an orphanage and just wanting folk to call his own. After folks came by and left with the standard curly haired girl, Rasmus decides to take his parenting hunting into his own hands. After-all SOMEONE has to want a straight-haired boy. The characters are well-developed and interesting to read about, not so stereotypical with good hearts and a willingness to help each other.
