We all know "that” person – they are the one who friends refer to as a "cat-a-holic” or even jokingly as the "cat lady.” They dress their cat up for holidays, post videos on Facebook of their funny feline playing with a rubber band, and carrying on full conversations in meow-talk that only their owners understand. Award-winning author Allia Zobel Nolan knows all too well the life of a cat-loving parent and details her hilarious tales in her new release, Women Who Still Love Cats Too Much.
This book tried too hard to be funny. That's what my impression was. Didn't like it at all and I had honestly thought I would. Handed it to my hubby and his reaction was the same. We are both people who enjoy the two cats we have, but this book simply didn't cut it for us.
BUT what was good?
1. The illustrations worked. They fit well with text and added a comical element.
2. The book was short, it's a small book running 75 pages.
3. The humour is divided into sections such as "you know your cats may be putting a chink in your career when....."
So my verdict? Take a pass.
Unless of course you are one of those crazy cat people who just might find solace in meeting others of your ilk within the pages of this book. :)
