2 cups of elmer white glue
liquid water Colour (do not use food colouring)
Glitter (optional)
2 tsp. Borax (20 team mule borax, found where laundry detergent is sold)
water in various amounts
Directions
- in a small container, combine 1 1/3 cup very warm water with 2 tsp borax.
- stir until borax is completely dissolved
- set aside
- in a large container, combine
2 cups elmers glue
liquid water colour
Glitter (optional)
- mix thoroughly
- pour the contents of the small container into the large container
- mix well using your hands
- life and turn the mixture until it is fully combined.
This recipe makes enough for 6 children to each have a blob of their own. If stored in an airtight container, the flubber lasts up to two weeks.
What can you do with Flubber?
Let your children experiment with it. Can it be stretched? Rolled into a ball and bounced? Use to cover a jar opening? What can you do with it?
Did some looking around. you can find liquid water colour here. You may be able to find other sources of it.
NOTE: Borax is a toxic substance. Experiments with borax should NOT be done near food items (aka not in the kitchen). Limit the time children play with it. Do not let them eat it. Wash hands after using it. When done playing with this product you can put it on an ant hill where children and pets can not get to it.
