From the back of the truck I heard this chant "history, history, history".
"Are you sure?" I replied.
"Yes, Mom. I want to know what happens next. This is interesting."
And so I continued our adventure into the tales of American History read by Hal Young.
We listened to tales of how armies advanced, how men persuaded others to their cause, harsh winters, surprise attacks. We heard stories of Daniel Boone, George Washington, John Quincy Adams and many more.
My son was fascinated.
Then we introduced a friend to them... HE was fascinated. :) This 12 year old boy was captivated. "Can we hear more history please? I want to know more. These are really good!"
And so we listened, and a long car ride seemed to go much faster.
We'll be listening to them again as when we turn to the study of early American History. :) It's an easy way to learn history.
They are well done. Clearly read. Good inflection.
