...
The spotted cucumber beetle, after overwintering as adults under leaves and trash in woodland, the adults become active in the spring and feed on the flowers and foliage .... Newly laid eggs are dependent on sufficient soil moisture for survival within the first 3 days. The larvae hatch after 7-10 days and bore into the roots where they feed for 2-4 weeks, .....the larvae leave the host plants, burrow into the soil and enter the inactive or prepupal stage of the larval period, which usually lasts 6-8 days. Pupation lasts 6-12 days and adults of the new generation often move from one host to another.
After breakfast we did our reading and some book work. I'll be listing those below.
Canada
Canada is part of the world, so what does that mean?
I have a book on circles, the world is a big old ball with bumps and holes, so we talked about circles as it helps us to get a handle on what the world is and how big it is.
We looked at circle words such a circumference, diamater, radius, major and minor arc, the different layers of the world. It was all quite interesting. :) The lad had fun drawing some pictures to go in our Canada book and practiced the words Crust, Mantle, outer core and inner core. Also the words diameter, radius, and circumference.
we'll be going for a walk/bike ride later to practice our biking skills and get some needed exercise.
