This Five Minute Friday post is inspired by the word prompt posted by Kate. This week the word given is DREAM.
The rules for the posts are simple. Write for five minutes. Link up. Then be an encouragement to the person linking up before you and comment on their post. Easy enough eh? The hardest part sometimes is thinking of something to write about concerning the word prompt...but taking time to think is a good thing no? :)
One of my son's favourite questions first thing in the morning is "Mom, did you have any interesting dreams last night?". This of course, is a precursor to my asking him if HE had any interesting dreams...at which point I get told about his interesting dreams. He's used to the fact that I rarely have interesting dreams (which he finds terribly boring).
But dreams are what all people have don't you find?
Whether they are dreams during our sleep, or dreams we have for the future, or dreams that dwell on our past. Dreams happen because we are people living on this world.
I dream about having a farm and not being limited in the amount of bunnies that I can raise. :) I dream about having my business that makes enough to pay all our bills. I dream about my lad growing up to become a fine man of God. That dream matters by the by as it affects my present course of action with him. The rest are just dreams and are limited by present realities.
But some dreams can be worked for you know?
I can teach my boy to simply read the bible and to ask questions based on what he reads.
I can have a small business now which may or may not blossom into bigger business.
I can look at pictures of farms with my hubby and think of possibilities down the road...knowing that our future is at this point, limited by his job prospects.
And you know what.... it's all GOOD. Whether some dreams are accomplished or not matters not. If the important dreams are met... of my lad loving God thoroughly... it's all good in my world. If my hubby finds the right job when this current one fades.... that matters. My other dreams are just hopes and longings and God fulfills my life regardless and it is GOOD.
What dreams are most important to you????
