Enough of this, on with the show. :)
Reflect. It seems that this time of year is when folks what to stop and reflect on the past year. On the blessings, on the sorrows.
I have to admit, I don't tend to do that specifically at this time of year. Reflection tends to hit me at odd times. (I don't know if it's like that for you too).
It was funny yesterday.
I was schooling my boy and one of the things we do is a "word of the day". When we go to the dictionary and alphabetically we go through it looking for words that we don't know. Our word was Address. The lad said I know that one...and I said but do you know this meaning... the person made an address to the group of people?
He gave me this look of pure startlement.
Why do I mention this?
Reflection sometimes leads leads to that you know?
When you think back on something and you know how hindsight in 20/20.. it's kind of like. Sometimes it's the shock of realizing what you went through and survived. Sometimes is the shock of how much you learned and changed and grew. And sometimes reflection leads to a great deal of thankfulness...seeing the hand of God at work in your life.
Reflection is more than just a thinking back on your life.... its surprise, awareness, thankfulness, shock all rolled into one.
And that's a good thing yes?
