Alone.
I sit here alone in a house
Quiet with the sounds of sleeping men.
One Husband, One Son, One Visiting Student.
Then I realize in the silence,
In this my golden hour of the day,
That silence is not a given.
Even as I write I hear the tick,
Ticking of cat paws as they come
To demand attention.
Even in this quiet hour I can't find time
JUST FOR ME.
Sometimes I crave time just for me.
And then I realize how selfish that is.
Around me people are struggling.
People cry out in pain....
There will always be need, and
There will always be someone
To meet that need, albeit sometimes poorly.
And my need? My desire for quiet,
My desire to not always be needed?
Well, God will meet that need.
He lets me know how often he
Meets MY Need.
He gives me those moments of complete
Stillness.
Days of not feeling well.
Where I have to be quiet
In order to let my body heal.
Not always an easy thing.
But life is good.
Filled with abundance.
A son's laughter,
A hubby's conversation.
A Student's delight in experiencing new things.
Life is good.
Life can be alone and silent.
And God will grant us the
Desires of our heart.
I am truly.. never ALONE.
Here's the deal.
Write unedited for five minutes on a given word prompt. This prompt is provided by dear Miss Kate. If you haven't already guessed, today's word prompt is ALONE.
So you write.
You link up.
THEN.. You take the time to be part of the heart of this community and you ENCOURAGE the person, or persons who linked up before you.
Easy peasy, done in 15 minutes tops. (you know, find an image to make you post pretty, write for five minutes, and make comments). It's FUN. And.. if you take the time, you will find some AMAZING writers. :) And the word prompts take people in all sorts of interesting directions too... that's part of what makes it fun. :)
