For the past it seems forever, we've been reading through Erin Hunter's Warriors Series. My son LOVES these books. Our rabbits are currently being given Warrior Cat names. :) It's a good thing. This book we are about 1/2 way through and tensions are mounting. Will the warrior clans defeat the dark Forest or not? Will DoveWing and TigerHeart stay in love? Will IvyPool make it out of the Dark Forest alive? Who is the fourth cat of the prophecy? The answers to these questions await.
| We were ever so fortunate one day to walk into the local thrift shot and find the entire series of the "Getting to Know Nature's Children" series. My son is thoroughly enjoying making his own pick of the series and deciding which ones we should read first. We learned about owls, butterflies, coyotes, frogs and so many more. It's been a lot of fun going through these books with him. |
Oceans, 1000 facts about them. We read one page spread a night. One topic each night. We are learning tons and think we might have an idea on what do do for the project fair. (which reminds me to do a pinterest search for ideas). To build a model of different coral reefs. Wouldn't that be fun to build?
| We have just started reading this book from the Royal Diaries. Isabel. And boy, does my lad have questions. What are the seven deadly sins mom? Do we believe that too? Mom? Why would he force her to marry an ugly man? What does ..... And on go the questions. I have to admit to be interested to learn what will happen to Isabel. I know that at the end of these books they will tell us what truly happened with her. |
The Old Farmer's Almanac for Kids. Volume 3. In the spring we are seriously thinking of making a Sunflower fort. My son was totally intrigued by the idea. We had fun learning about some of the different jobs animals have (one cat works in a library). And did you know that in Pakistan a curry pizza is a favourite? My lad enjoys these fact books. So I enjoy reading them to him.
| My boy calls this the Frog Book, because on the front Cover is a big Frog. So far though, we are just learning about plants. We are eventually to learn about mammals, fish and other such things. All about the Natural World. We read a one page spread every night. |
