Go: Today's word is See.
What do I see when I tell a lad the sad news that a friend's male mouse killed his female mouse (which belongs to the lad) AND all the babies? What do I see? I see a lad whose hearts breaks with sadness over the loss of his mouse and over his friends sadness at losing them all. How does one explain why some mice go wonky in their heads?
It's hard to see that sadness sweep over a child.
And Yet... it's heartening as well. To know that I have a lad who can feel empathy for a friend. To know I have a lad who feels pain of loss for an animal.
It's still hard to have the weeping and sadness, to have to look through that sadness to find the good and not knowing if we can...
And then having a lad say Mom, can we give (friend) some of our mice? Can we give him some of our babies? Do you think he would like that?
What can you do but have your heart leap with joy at lad who is so quickly giving?
It's make my heart weep with joy knowing that my lad does this of his own free will. That God has placed the lovingness within him.
Rather cool eh?
