How We Used It.
We enjoyed listening to the stories while travelling around. A couple of stories we listened to while at home on a weather temperamentally difficult day. :) My son's reaction varied:
My son laughed about children chasing chickens.
He queried WHY? Why mom? Why would he climb that tower?
He stated: MOM.. If I Had been there with all those bugs I would have been trying to catch them all.
He got alarmed: MOM>>> if you sprayed bug spray all over yourself...wouldn't it make you sick?
He thought a couple of the stories didn't really seem real (like the ring being found, the owner being discovered after it was sold and the events that transpired after that).
Hubby's reaction. Stories are interesting, but not compelling. I don't have this strong desire to know what happens next.
My reaction: I enjoy listening to them. I'm happy with their length. Pleased that they aren't hugely compelling so then I don't need to listen to "MOM... PLEASE.... can we just stay in the car and listen more PLEASE. They are enjoyed start to finish and rarely leave a person on a cliff hanger. An excellent (if I could figure how to do it) bedtime story for a child as one story satisfies.
Would I recommend?
YES. After the second time listening to them, my son said "Mom, can we get more of these? Now that I have heard them again I like them more and I want to listen to more of them. Please, can we get more?"
