This week Noah and the ark.
Our Bible Verse was "But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord.: Genesis 6:8
"14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits,e]">[e] its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. 16 Make a rooff]">[f] for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks."
We actually had a bit of fun with this. What about... snakes? No. What about spiders? No. and on and on the questions were fired at me. :) And I fired them back as well.. what about a whale? Or a caribou? or a mouse (so tell me.. would YOU want to eat a mouse?)
"Why does an animal have to be clean mom?" Which gave us the opportunity talk about Jewish dietary laws and the kind of animals God allowed to be presented as a sacrifice to him. How a good sacrifice is a pleasing smell for him. I am hoping to make the connection this week about how what we do, the sacrifices we make in life are a pleasing aroma to God. (our repentance from our sin etc).
Anyways, that's our Bible time for this week. (Friday to Friday).
Do you have a bible time in your house? If so, what do you do?
